It's curious: Growing up, I thought that Martin Gore (a style icon in every sense) and other MTV stars of the era looked completely cool and "modern" (which means nothing now, but did then). But I don't feel the same about the broccoli hair. Is that because back when I was a pre-teen/teen, the look was associated more with creative, artistic types and now I see it primarily on the packs of vaguely sporty bros who haunt the parking lots at CVS out on Long Island?

Yes all of that. and also it’s so homogenous now. Everyone looks the same
