If Rad Soda comes out with a version of OK Soda, I an ON BOARD.

I recently listened to a podcast about OK and could not believe how it came to be. They really messed that up - could have been great!

Was it the Decoder Ring podcast??? If so I think I’ve heard that one too!

Being in the 8th grade, seeing the hand written “ok soda” label on the lunchroom pop machine - what a time to be alive.

I watched the Lolla docu this last weekend and then saw that Perry went mad dog on Navarro. He was so poised and cool in the documentary! Not a good look. Going to see The Substance tonight. I fucking loved Demi in that horrible docu Brats. She was so smart and insightful.

And Jolt cola forever. Rad could never.

I saw a screening and def have thoughts! Demi is amazing — everyone in it is.

Oh boy, I have thoughts too! My feelings have fluctuated so much. Hatred, revulsion, awe, admiration, disgust. I think the filmmaker went a couple ticks too far in beating the horse til it was a bloody pulp (god so much blood, so many fluids) but I like that she went full grotesquerie. Because what is this hideous beauty standard that makes women hate themselves and commit violence to themselves other than grotesque? So I think I'm a fan now?

Yeah same, I don’t do well with body horror grossness so I closed my eyes for I wanna say 1/4 of it. but I did appreciate too how unhinged coralie fargeat went though. Like it was so angry, as we should be. I appreciated the dark humor, too. Demi better get a nom!!

Soda was an old friend for me back in the 50’s and 60’s..as a basketball junkie/player/ coach..there was nothing better after a workout than a cold soda..after 2 hours of playing in the gym we would head to the coke machine near a gas station across from the housing project we lived in..a dime for an ice cold Coke in a glass bottle..an old wooden crate held the empties..Rad is just another in a lone line of sodas that have visited, advertised..and left..Mission soda, RC Cola, Nehi, all flashed across the black and white tv and sang on the radio..soda is a fix and every “ junkie” had their fave..when we boomers grew up and met the medical profession diet soda, seltzer and water took their place..just. saying..

Omg you unlocked a memory. My dad drank RC in the tall glass bottles and we had so many empties in our pantry all the time. And you’re right — sugary water will always be popular in some form!

Love this article, you guys! Several comments! 1) A font is everything, and can make or break not only products, but a television show or movie as well - think Stranger Things and Longlegs! 2) Vacation is *the best* what a great marketing campaign, design, and they even had that smoothie at Erewhon, craaazy 3) Jane’s Addiction, my favorite band from high school, is officially over. That tour is done and so is Dave Navarro putting up with Perry’s antics. Dave just recently got over Long Covid (which I have) and your patience runs thin when you’ve had a life-altering illness like that. I’m sad about the band, caught them in 2022 thankfully sans Dave who was sick, but love Dave and know he’s gonna be happier now. I didn’t even talk about soda! Haha. Love reading you both and am always excited to see you in my inbox ❤️

Reda, thanks as always for your support! Yeah the awful thing is that the band sounded great and Dave looked FANTASTIC. I hope Perry gets help. (And I also hope you get better very soon. I’ve read too many harrowing stories about LC ❤️)

Yes the ‘80s movie/show fonts! I didn’t know that about Dave, too. And thank you for being such a loyal reader and we love to hear that (and same back)!
