This was such a fun read!! But now I need someone to make me a Venn diagram of the overlap between Daddy and babygirl so I can understand his true, honored place in the world.
Fair! Also, I’m so clueless about babygirl energy that anyone could tell me anything and I would just nod and be like, “ok, got it, that makes sense” 🥴
Ok ok, I have a Theory! I asked my teenage daughter (18) what it could mean to call Pedro Pascal babygirl, and basically the meaning I could extract from her explanation was that - when applied to someone like him - it’s the opposite of toxic masculinity*. If you combine that with the other Stern Brunch Daddy circle in the Venn Diagram, I think we find the sweet spot of why he is so hot! All the good parts of masculinity without any of the toxic shit. *This doesn’t really help me with the true understanding of babygirl in any other setting, but I am taking this one and running with it. 😂
Superb feature!!!! And WOWZAS that you interviewed Pedro, Fawnia (love that pic!! I need to show my kids, through whom I first came across him via Mandalorin!). Thank you for (always!) bringing me up to speed on all. The. Things, including that he's in Gladiator II (too much for me, I'm waiting to catch on streaming/DVD so I can hide behind couch cushions! 😂). This looks and reads like a full-on Variety/Vanity Fair feature situation, but on Substack. 🤩👏👏👏
Thank you for reading and the kind words as always and that’s the best feedback yet!! Makes us so happy ☺️ If you have time, I’d recommend watching G2 in the theater because you’ll want to see Pedro and Paul in their fringe-y skirt armor on the big screen!! (Lol sorry I’m so creepy.)
I was at Barnes and noble the other day and noticed the Taylor Swift fan mags. I didn’t notice any for Pedro, but I will confess that Taylor is distracting.
I became an instant Pedro fan when he took GoT to another level in Season 4. And his Mario Kart/The Last of Us parody on SNL was so hilarious my husband and I quote it regularly. “Let’s a-go.” He’s just a delight.
The fact that he stood out in that GoT cast and I could actually remember his character’s name was how I knew he had an It factor. He really does seem like an exceptional human
I don’t remember the project that made me love him, but I was truly radicalized (in a good way) by that yellow-and-brown Mandalorian premiere outfit. His style is just superb.
I’ve loved Pedro since Game of Thrones and especially in the Nick Cage movie and The Last of Us. His red carpet style is amazing, and I often show it to my husband, as an example of how to push his own personal style.💕
Fawnia, how amazing that you got a picture with him!
I loved that Nic Cage movie! He was so funny in it (and Sharon Horgan as Nic’s wife—genius). Awww I love that and does your husband have a lot of sweaters now? I cherish that pic still!!
My Pedro tipping point was Narcos. I was thinking "who is this guy? He's so charismatic and I find him super hot despite the very much not my jam mustache." I had seen him in other things like The Good Wife, but Narcos was the one that stuck.

I honestly don’t think there is any overlap, which is why it’s confusing that he is both (I’m pretending I know what I’m talking about. I do not)
lol omg I know I’m still confused by all that and just pretend I understand. Thank you for reading!!

That’s so funny!!!🤣 Will report back when I’ve braved up!! 🩷 🥰
Please do!! lol 🔥

It’s because they SOLD OUT, Jeff. High demand! 🤪

lol omg the Mario Kart sketch! I need to rewatch that one

The sweater was such a great touch!
Swoon!!!

Ha, I am still working on the sweaters. He’s very resistant, despite my protestations that he will look like Pedro.💕
I think his stylist would love that people are trying to get their husbands to dress like him!!
This!!!! Is a perfect newsletter. Thank you both!
Ditto!! Super fun to read, and I love how this digs into how fashion played a major role in elevating his star power too.
His stylist is so good, too. I love how she style Riz. Thank you for reading!!
Thank you!! (No one is better at doing that kind of fashion breakdown than Fawnia)
Yay teamwork!!
Omg thank you! Means a lot from you!!❤️ (oops fixed the typo)
Enjoyable and juicy… somebody has to do the research! Loved every bit of this Pedro piece.
Thank you!
My service to the people! Thank you for reading!

Omg I know, Javi!! He looked so good in those jeans too even if he says he looked like a dork in one of the 5000 interviews Ive watched
Brilliant! This incredibly detailed walk through Pedro's life n times is destined to become canon.
Liza, we take our job here very seriously (and thank you!!)
Thank you for reading and that’s the best feedback ever!❤️ I knew all my “research” would come in handy one day!!
