I have close up super-vision but my monitors at work are that annoying distance away from me, and I have to use privacy screens to keep my colleagues from seeing my top-secret finance work. So I enlarged my font and squint.

I had the same giant glasses as you did, Cheryl and Fawnia! And I still have my annuals, don’t make me drag them out!

I love Pam, just saw The Last Showgirl, and would love to look that cool. I know someone who uses a loupe/round lens on a chain to read menus. It’s very amusing.

Wonderful catching up with you both, as always.💕 Thank you!

Ooh I should get a loupe! That sounds chic

I think one company made those glasses and everyone had them ha. Ohhh loupe sounds more chic and less ridiculous than “monocle”!!

I know right? I require a loupe, fetch me my loupe!

Slutty little glasses is just what I needed right now! I'm planning to get lazik surgery one day soon but I'll miss the aesthetic of glasses

The laser procedure is truly lifechanging!! But you’ll still need reading glasses at some point so you’ll still have the chance for slutty little readers! (I’ll need them soon)

The piece that had to be written!! 🤩👏👏 - “if you’re … wearing your readers and therefore can see the little heart at the bottom of this post, please feel free to click it.” 😂 Great advice about strength checking and then shopping from your stylish sources 🕵️‍♀️- and don’t get me started on varifocals as we call them here. I feel nauseous and slightly spinny just thinking about it. But your PHOTOS!! 💗💗 (And already so cool with the tie and the polka dots, Fawnia!! 😍) Also, I can 100% smell those stickers now!!

I think so much about my reading glasses because they are so ubiquitous in my life at this point!

What are varifocals?! I actually do think the monocle is a good idea and very portable! Lol I think my mom still dressed me then 😂🤓

Jen Baden Howard's avatar

😍 (🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ to catch up here!)!! So varifocals are the ones which apparently cover short, mid and long distance, all in one, apparently seamless lens, but apparently just make me feel seasick. So I do the two pairs at once, and maybe shades on top of my head, too, which avoids the nausea but is definitely a look. 👀😂

I need a new pair, so this was incredibly helpful! Also, my sixth-grade self (who had similar glasses as Fawnia's) would be amazed that the style would be considered trendy today.

I’m still traumatized and got lasik because I cannot wear glasses again! I’m going to get that monocle when the time comes 🧐

I love Cadis! All I wear. I have the blue aviators, the thick serial killer ones and a few pairs of the Miklos ones in different colors, which I swear look good on everyone. Check them out!

While writing this I succumbed and bought some giant grandpa progressives from Caddis. Can’t wait for the mocking from my children!

I’ve had readers stashed in every bag and room in my house for awhile, but I recently discovered multi-focal readers (normal on top, magnified on the bottom) so I can read a menu and look up to continue my conversation without taking them off to avoid a headache. Huge game changer!

I have like a million pairs of Zenni prescription sunglasses because I have bad DISTANCE vision and often get in the car to realize I can’t read the signs. So I stash a pair in everything. (Meanwhile I didn’t really need readers? My eye doc was like 🤷🏻‍♀️) - J

Count me in as a huge-glasses wearer back in the day. I remember a blueberry pair, and TINTED BLUE LENSES to match, whyyyyy did my parents let me do that? (Because it was the late 70s-early 80s and I was stuck wearing glasses, that's why).

Thanks for the link to Carrie's medicine cabinet. I swore off AJLT after the first season, but love a deep dive on fashion/beauty. I do wonder why their are no hair care products, you know she's use Oribe and Olaplex.
