That Joy Ann Reed quote annoys me so much as a deeply open-minded liberal and massive WWE fan. WWE doesn't make anyone vote one way or another. These days, under new management, there are BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ wrestlers from all over the world in the company. They do wonderful outreach for sick kids, natural disasters, a full Love is Love campaign every year, AND MORE. Just because that absolute brainless pinecone Hulk Hogan keeps making an ass of himself is not an inditement of the company, or its fans, as a whole.

I’m glad to hear the WWE is throwing its support behind those causes now. I have been wanting to dive into its history more and this is good info to have. Unfortunately for me as someone who grew up in the ‘80s, yeah — Hulk Hogan still looms large. He was just everywhere

Oh the shoe love and nostalgia here!! 🙌 The Docs!! (You took me right back to sixth form college and wearing electric blue and pink suede chunky brogues!) LOVE the pics of you both, and that’s so funny about the Aerosoles/Prada situation, respectively! 🤣I STILL have a block when it comes to Clarks, though, deeply rooted in being made to wear the ‘sensible’, wide-fitting ones for school when all I longed for wedges like my best friend Loretta. Loved this so much. XO

Yes, electric blue and pink suede brogues sound so fun for right now, too! I know… now it’s about the “sensible” shoes lol Thank you for reading!!💕

GASS shoes were, indeed, the coolest. I gave up on heels when I turned 50. I walked all over Seattle for over 20 years and wrecked the balls of my feet. I feel like there should have been PSA commercials for this. “Here’s your feet on heels. Any questions?” And Gen X should have watched more Mr. Rogers too.

Heels should def come with a warning label. They look so good though. 😭And YES Mister Rogers would be so disappointed

Fake boob eggs 🤣 And I am laughing at all the girlies who mocked me for commuting in Danskos and Birks when I worked in fashion PR in the late 00's... your hairline fractures from those ballet flats don't feel so good, huh? (I MOCK WITH LOVE!)

I have a pair of emerald green suede boots from the previous Fluevog X Anna Sui collection. They are chunky and the most comfortable things ever. I am biased, I am a Fluevog fan going back 25+ years.👠

Also a huge fan of Doc Martens. I highly recommend people size up and add an insert, especially a sport shoe version for extra support. Docs are my go to shoes in any kind of crappy weather, and are the best in ice and snow.

I’m gradually calling my closet of heels. It’s time to make amends with my feet for all the cruel things I did to them when I was younger.

Awesome article, as always. Thank you. 💕

I haven’t done a video of my closet for a while, but here’s my maximalist closet: https://open.substack.com/pub/sheilaephemera/p/a-maximalists-closet?r=2ecqsh&utm_medium=ios

My favourite Docs are the soft leather ones; I have a pair in lemon yellow that I love, as well as the canvas ones which soften up quite well over time.💕

Sheila, I actually thought of you when we posted this. I remembered the recent closet tour you posted. INCREDIBLE Fluevog collection!! And thanks for the Doc tips. Those original hard shiny ones look great but wow the break-in time is shocking.

Hilarious, the struggle for a comfy shoe is real… and you just solved it in so many ways!

Had no idea Clarks was beyond the infamous Wallabee —- now ther red shiny (prob patent leather) Bee version!!!

Brought a smile to my face and lifted my mood.

Thanks Cheryl and Fawnia!
