Really enjoying your writing, and now I apparently have to figure out where to stream Bridget Jones, I missed 2 and 3 but will always have nostalgic love for #1 and the books. Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you so much for reading and for the nice note! That means a lot to me ❤️I can’t recall if I watched the 2nd but definitely not the 3rd so you’ll be ok! Do you have Peacock?

Ah figures, it’s always ANOTHER streaming service. Maybe they have a free trial, maybe I need to subscribe for a month just to watch it…

Oh yes do a free trial and maybe time it to when Poker Face season 2 comes out so you can watch that one, too. Peacock has some good stuff!

Damn, why is the Bridget movie not in theatres? I love your deep dive into the wardrobe, thank you!💕 I saw the original in the theatre at a radio station launch- we all got light-up Bridget branded shot glasses that lit up.

Omg I’m so sad you don’t have those shot glasses anymore! Thank you so much for reading!!❤️ I asked myself the same question and I’m guessing it’s Universal trying to get Peacock subs and the usual underestimating/dismissing women’s power at the box office

It was a plastic glass and the flashing light had died.

Right?? I would have gone with a posse of women to see it

It really needs to be! I would have paid for a ticket. (I hope you still have the glass)

The scene in The Simpsons Cape Feare where Sideshow Bob explains his tattoo as "the Bart the" and the parole board lady says "No one who speaks German could be an evil man." cracks me up every single time.

I remember just cackling when Sideshow Bob is hanging off the bottom of the car, and then Homer’s “witness protection” t-shirt lololol I need to find that episode

The whole episode is genius. I need to go back and watch - it’s been a while

I enjoyed this film a great deal. Also Roxter’s Darcy moment with the wet white shirt was way hotter. Just sayin’

It really was a delight, even when I was ugly crying. Lol yeah Leo really does have a lock on that type of character and I agree. Did you see Fire Island? There’s a Mr Darcy moment in there, too. I love how Colin’s wet shirt keeps on giving.

This is FABULOUS!! I hung on every word. I love the stories behind the clothes. Gah, I need a time machine (to paraphrase Roxster) so I can watch Bridget Jones for the first time — as a 20 year old mall girl!

Thank you for reading! I loved your ode to Bridget, too. Lol ROXTER. I’m curious what you’d think of it from your perspective today. I haven’t seen the first since it was out so I really should revisit it.

Oh oops I’ve been reminded that Elisabeth Shue was on “The Boys,” (a show I actually watch and like and have zero recollection of, apparently). I guess that Homelander thing kinda counts but let’s get her a HEALTHIER version

I googled and Homelander was born in 1981 so younger, I guess, but he’s no HARRIS. I don’t think he counts, also because he’s terrifying. So yeah give Elisabeth her Leo!

I loved all the callbacks! So it was really fun to read how much thought and care went into them.
